Artist`s story

I am Soodeh Hedayati, a professional artist based in San Francisco. My artistic journey began in my country, Iran, where I studied art (Handicraft) and embarked on my career as an art instructor, specializing in wood mosaic and wood carving. Having tried and explored different styles, I experienced some abstract sculpture and paintings and rapidly found the pleasure of the unlimited creative power of abstract style. In my working process, I follow the unconscious and avoid predefined rules. I am very passionate about employing diverse techniques and materials to create interesting and thought-provoking compositions, which I believe is a distinct signature that expresses my artistic identity.

As I honed my skills, I also delved into the world of art research, pursuing an M.A. program in Art Research in Tehran, Iran. My dedication to the art world led me to participate in the Iranian National Exhibition in Tehran. It was during this time that I began my role as an art researcher at the Iranian Art Study Organization, further expanding my knowledge and expertise.

My artistic journey took a global turn when I moved to San Francisco and started “Art Education” at the Academy of Art University. Here, I continued to explore various art forms and techniques, refining my expertise in wood carving, wood mosaic, abstract painting, fabric printing, Farsi calligraphy, and plaster art on walls.
