Artist`s Story

I’m Soodeh Hedayati, a professional artist based in Los Angeles, originally from Iran, where my artistic journey first began. I studied Handicrafts and started my career as an art instructor, specializing in wood mosaic and wood carving. Over the years, I explored various forms of expression, including abstract sculpture and painting and quickly fell in love with the boundless creativity of the abstract style. My artistic process is intuitive and free, guided more by emotion than by rules. I find inspiration in combining unconventional materials and techniques to create layered, thought-provoking compositions that reflect my personal voice.
As I deepened my craft, I pursued a Master’s degree in Art Research in Tehran and took part in national exhibitions. I also worked as an art researcher at the Iranian Art Study organization, where I explored the rich visual traditions of Persian culture while expanding my understanding of global art history.
After moving to San Francisco, I continued my studies at the Academy of Art University, focusing on art education and further refining my skills in woodwork, abstract painting, Farsi calligraphy, fabric printing, and modern plaster art.

Out of this evolving journey, Stonish Decor was born an artistic brand where I merge fine art with functional design. What began as a few handcrafted wall pieces made of modern plaster has now become a signature collection of sculptural home accents. Each piece reflects my deep passion for texture, balance, and the interplay between simplicity and sophistication. Stonish Decor is not just a brand, it’s a continuation of my story, where tradition meets contemporary aesthetics, and art finds its way into everyday living spaces
